Connect Zoom

Updated on Sep 30, 2026 · 1 minute read

Authorize ArcGlass to your Zoom account and analyze cloud meeting recordings automatically. Read-only, account-level OAuth — no API key. About five minutes, start to finish.

Open Pipelines → ~5 min setup
Before you begin

What you'll need

ArcGlass access
An ArcGlass account with permission to create pipelines.
Zoom plan
A paid Zoom plan (Pro or higher) with Cloud Recording enabled — cloud recordings are the source ArcGlass reads. Free/Basic accounts have no cloud recording.
Zoom admin
You must authorize as an account owner or admin whose role includes the Recording and User view privileges (Zoom → Admin → Role Management). Account-level access requires it.
Audio transcript
Recommended: turn on Zoom → Settings → Recording → Create audio transcript so recordings carry a text transcript. When absent, ArcGlass transcribes the recording audio instead.

Step by step

The full walkthrough

01

Turn on cloud recording in Zoom

  1. Enable Cloud Recording. In the Zoom web portal, go to Settings → Recording and turn on Cloud recording.
  2. Enable the audio transcript. Under the advanced cloud recording settings, turn on Create audio transcript so each recording includes a text transcript.
  3. Confirm you have recordings. Record at least one meeting to the cloud, or confirm recent cloud recordings exist — there is nothing to analyze until one does.
02

Select Zoom as your source

  1. Create a pipeline. In ArcGlass, create a Calls and Meetings pipeline — the configuration wizard opens.
  2. Open the Ingestion step. Choose Zoom from the sources.
  3. Review the panel. Zoom analyzes cloud meeting recordings automatically — there is no API key to enter.
03

Connect and authorize in Zoom

  1. Select Connect to Zoom. A popup opens to authorize ArcGlass with your Zoom account.
  2. Sign in as an admin. Authorize with an account owner/admin so ArcGlass can read the account's cloud recordings.
  3. Approve access. ArcGlass requests the read-only scopes below, then returns you with Zoom connected.
Tip — If Zoom shows “Invalid scope — edit on web portal,” your role is missing the Recording or User privilege, or the account has no cloud recording. Grant the privileges in Role Management, or upgrade to a plan with cloud recording, then try again.
04

Scopes ArcGlass requests

  1. ArcGlass asks only for read-only, account-level access. It never creates, edits, or deletes Zoom content.
  2. cloud_recording:read:list_account_recordings:admin — list the account's cloud recordings.
  3. cloud_recording:read:list_recording_files:admin — read a meeting's recording files, including the transcript.
  4. cloud_recording:read:meeting_transcript:admin — read the meeting transcript.
  5. user:read:user:admin — resolve the account and host so each recording is attributed correctly.
05

Finish and create the pipeline

  1. Continue through AI Instructions. Keep the defaults unless ArcGlass provides different settings.
  2. Review the Summary. Confirm the details and create the pipeline. Cloud recordings begin syncing automatically.
Confirm it worked

Confirm onboarding is complete

Open Pipeline Runs
The newly created pipeline should appear in the list.
Verify status
The pipeline should show Active. ArcGlass pulls cloud recordings, transcribes them, and analyzes them as they become available.
Check the Meetings page
Analyzed Zoom recordings appear on the Meetings page with summaries, action items, and sentiment.

You're done when

The pipeline is Active with Zoom connected, and your cloud recordings are syncing into the Meetings page.

If something's off

Quick troubleshooting

Connect popup doesn't open
Allow pop-ups for ArcGlass and confirm a browser extension isn't blocking it, then select Connect to Zoom again.
“Invalid scope” in Zoom
Your role lacks the Recording or User privilege, or the account has no cloud recording. Grant the privileges in Zoom Role Management, or upgrade to a paid plan with cloud recording, then re-authorize.
“Invalid redirect” in Zoom
This is an app-configuration issue on the ArcGlass side, not something you can fix. Contact support@arcglass.io.
Recordings sync but have no transcript
Turn on Zoom → Settings → Recording → Create audio transcript. Without it, ArcGlass transcribes the recording audio, which can take longer.
No recordings appear
Only cloud recordings are pulled. Confirm cloud recording is enabled, recordings have finished processing, and you authorized as an admin.
Older recordings are missing
A standard run pulls recent recordings first. Contact support@arcglass.io to backfill your full recording history.
